An outline development proposal for 7 new houses on the footpath between Wycke Lane and Woodrolfe Farm Lane was recommended for refusal by Tollesbury Parish Council last week.

However, you still need to let Maldon District Council know your views on this proposed development.

Send your objections into MDC, the planning reference is 22/00976/OUT.

Contact your local councillors to let them know your views, so they can act on your behalf.

Items you should consider about the proposed development:

  • Over development of a very narrow site that incorporates a public footpath
  • Increased traffic flow through the village
  • There are no footpaths on either side of these private roads
  • The high density of housing does not fit in with the character of the village
  • Properties not in keeping with surrounding housing
  • The access road will undoubtable be used as a vehicular cut through
  • The wooded area and the footpath provide a natural habitat for protected wildlife
  • The area supports both bats and slow worms
  • Severely restricted access for emergency vehicles.
