Welbeck, the land promoters for the 159 houses to the north of West St, have engaged Just Build Homes, a market research company, to call residents in Tollesbury to gauge their opinion on the proposed development. So, please expect them to contact you, probably via telephone.

There are already over 370 objection comments registered on the Maldon District Council planning portal, with more to come.

If you are contacted by Just Build Homes our advice is to not say anything apart from….
“I object to the proposed building of 159 homes and the inappropriate over-development of Tollesbury.”

I’m sure they will be very nice and try to engage you in conversation but they are fishing for anything they can turn into a positive comment about the development from you. They will ask questions such as….

“Are you in favour of affordable housing in your area?”
“Would you like new homes in your area that will help young people get on the housing market?”
“Do you think it’s crucial that more places are provided to reduce homelessness?”

Of course we are all on favour of these but not on the scale proposed.

If you are in doubt what to say, say nothing and reject the call.
