Welbeck have withdrawn their outline planning application to build 159 homes to the north of West Street, Tollesbury.
HART would like to thank all those that sent in objection letters and emails to Maldon District Council, over 460 objections were registered before the withdrawal with more that could still be added. Please let your neighbours, friends and family know of the success.
Yet again, another case of People Power, that’s both Obsidian and Welbeck seen off this year and Gladman back in 2019.
As we have mentioned previously this is just one battle, there will be more attempts by developers to push unnecessary and inappropriate housing projects on Tollesbury, so be prepared! HART already have weapons in our armoury to prove to landowners, land promoters, developers, Maldon District Council and others, that Tollesbury is a village that doesn’t need or want to be over-developed.
Housing should be for need, not profit.
